About ResearchGate +Plus

ResearchGate +Plus is a subscription service to help researchers build valuable new connections and advance their careers. We’re making it available first to a small group of users.

What is the difference between ResearchGate and ResearchGate +Plus?

ResearchGate will remain a free platform while +Plus will add additional features that help you build new connections. You must be registered for ResearchGate in order to sign up for +Plus.

What are the additional features in +Plus?

See more readers

Provided you have your reader visibility settings enabled, as a +Plus user you will see the profiles of all of your readers who are logged in and also have their visibility settings enabled. Those who don’t fit these criteria will show up on the total reads numbers but you won’t see their individual profiles.

Advanced stats

As a +Plus user you will see advanced stats about your readers, including a breakdown by seniority and discipline. You’ll also get information about how your readers discover your research on ResearchGate (such as through ResearchGate, Google, etc.).

Increased visibility

Provided you have your reader visibility settings enabled, every time you read a publication as a +Plus user your profile will be visible to publication authors, even those who aren’t subscribed to +Plus and can only see a limited number of weekly readers, as long as the authors also have their visibility settings enabled.

Web mentions

As a +Plus user you can see when others mention and link to your research online. This includes mentions of your research on ResearchGate on sites such as news sites, Twitter, and Wikipedia.

Is there a free trial?

Your +Plus subscription may start with a 30-day free trial. If your subscription starts with a free trial, your payment method will be automatically charged the applicable fees at the end of your free trial period, unless you cancel your subscription at least 48 hours prior to the end of the free trial period.

Does my subscription automatically renew?

Yes. If you do not cancel at least 48 hours before your next billing period, the subscription will automatically renew on the same terms as the expiring subscription, unless you have otherwise been given notice of any changes.

How do I cancel?

Cancel your subscription at any time from your Subscription settings page:

  1. Log in to your account https://www.researchgate.net/login.
  2. Click on the arrow next to your profile picture in the top right-hand corner and click on Subscriptions
  3. Click Cancel subscription

You will continue to have access to your subscription through to the end of your current billing cycle, at which point your subscription will automatically end.

What happens to my subscription if I delete my ResearchGate account?

If you delete your ResearchGate account, you will immediately lose access to your subscription, and your subscription will automatically be cancelled. You will not be entitled to a refund.

What happens if my ResearchGate account is permanently locked?

If your ResearchGate account is permanently locked, you will immediately lose access to your subscription, and your subscription will automatically be cancelled at the end of your current billing cycle. You will not be entitled to a refund.

What happens if my ResearchGate account is temporarily locked?

If your ResearchGate account is temporarily locked, you will immediately lose access to your subscription, and your subscription will automatically be cancelled at the end of your current billing cycle. You will not be entitled to a refund. If your ResearchGate account is reactivated before the end of the billing cycle during which your account was locked, your subscription will not be automatically reactivated.

Is ResearchGate +Plus available on mobile?

ResearchGate +Plus is available on mobile. If you have subscribed to +Plus, your readers will be visible within the app.  All other features besides readers and being shown to authors when you read (this would currently be mentions and advanced stats) are not available through the app.
