What are mentions?
A 'mention' is when one of your research items is talked about or linked to on Twitter or Wikipedia.
Mentions help you learn about and follow the discussion of your work online. Together with other metrics, they help you get a more comprehensive overview of the impact of your work.
We can only find mentions for the research that you’ve added to your profile.
Why is the Mentions feature being removed?
On April 12, 2023, Mentions will be deactivated.
We created the Mentions feature to help researchers easily see where their work is being discussed online. Unfortunately, new limitations on the information we're able to provide mean that the feature isn't giving researchers a complete picture of where their work is mentioned. We've therefore decided to remove the feature for now.
This change does not affect your citations or citation count in any way.
